Core modality
Auricular / Ear-Based Supportive Care
Ear-based supportive approaches that can extend calm, self-regulation, and body-awareness routines beyond the treatment room.

Clinically responsible modality
How this modality fits the InnerVital™ model
Auricular care focuses on points on the external ear and may include ear acupressure, ear seeds, or ear-based protocols used as adjunctive support. Patients often appreciate that it can be simple, low-burden, and easy to integrate with daily routines.
InnerVital uses careful language around ear-based care. It can support stress, sleep, recovery routines, and cravings-adjacent self-regulation, but it does not treat addiction, replace addiction care, or substitute for behavioral health, psychiatric, detoxification, or medication-assisted treatment.
What this modality is
Auricular approaches are rooted in acupuncture and microsystem traditions. Ear seeds or small adhesive devices may be placed on selected points so the patient can apply gentle pressure between visits.
The value is often practical: a tangible reminder to pause, breathe, notice the body, and reinforce a recovery or regulation routine.
How InnerVital™ uses it
InnerVital may pair auricular support with acupuncture, Medical Qigong, stress and sleep support, mental health and recovery support, oncology supportive care, or preventive wellness routines.
It can be especially useful when the care plan benefits from gentle self-care reinforcement between visits, provided the patient understands hygiene, skin sensitivity, and appropriate use.
What patients may experience
- A brief explanation of the ear points selected and the purpose of the support
- Placement of ear seeds or ear acupressure guidance where appropriate
- Instructions for gentle pressure, skin checks, and when to remove the seeds
- Coordination with addiction, behavioral health, oncology, or medical care when those contexts are relevant

Relevant support pathways
This modality may be part of a broader support plan depending on the patient’s goals, safety profile, practitioner scope, and clinical appropriateness.
Related core modalities
InnerVital’s model is designed to combine modalities thoughtfully rather than treating each service as an isolated offering.
Safety, scope, and care coordination
Ear seeds and ear-based care should be avoided or modified for skin allergy, infection, wounds, severe sensitivity, or inability to follow removal instructions. Patients should not use ear-based care as a substitute for medical, psychiatric, addiction, or emergency care.
For recovery contexts, InnerVital should explicitly coordinate with appropriate addiction-care and behavioral-health resources rather than presenting auricular care as a stand-alone intervention.

Questions patients often ask
Frequently asked questions
What are ear seeds?
Ear seeds are small adhesive devices placed on points of the outer ear so a patient can apply gentle pressure as part of a self-care routine.
Can auricular care treat addiction?
No. InnerVital frames auricular care as adjunctive support for recovery routines and self-regulation, not as addiction treatment.
How long do ear seeds stay on?
Timing depends on the product, skin sensitivity, and practitioner instructions. They should be removed if irritation occurs.
